Burn Suspension Back in Place

5/27/2010

The Division of Forestry has suspended open burning on the Kenai Peninsula due to dry conditions.  Forestry says residents should check any fires they have lit in the past month to ensure that they are completely out.

Forestry says campfires and burn barrels built to approved safety standards have not been suspended, but individuals must use caution and ensure that there is no wind and adequate clearance from vegetation before attempting any type of campfire or burning from an approved burn barrel.
