Burn Ban Lifted

The Alaska Division of Forestry Kenai-Kodiak Area Office has lifted the open burning suspension as of 12:00 p.m., June 28, 2013.  With the current weather as well as the seasonal progression, the high danger of fire has reduced.

Burn permits are required from April 1st through August 31st for open debris burning.  While by the terms of the burn permit the public is provided awareness and safety when using fire, particularly the need for water on site, no burning during windy conditions, and having an proper fire break.  Burn permits can be obtained online.  For more information please contact the Division of Forestry at 260-4260.
