Buccaneer to Begin Jack up Rig Transport This Month

Buccaneer Alaska has signed a deal to bring their jack up rig from Singapore to the waters of the Cook Inlet this month.

The rig, the “Endeavour – Spirit of Independence” is expected to depart from Singapore by months end, and is expected to take roughly 21-days to reach the waters of the Cook Inlet. Once it arrives it the area, the rig will be offloaded and towed via tug to the first well location in Buccaneer’s offshore program and is planned to begin exploratory drilling in by September of this year.

By the end of the 2012 drilling season, Buccaneer plans to tow the rig to the Cosmopolitan Unit in the ice free waters of the Cook Inlet.
