Buccaneer is one step closer to having their Endeavour Jack up Rig ready to leave the Homer Deep Water Port.
According to a Buccaneer investor report, Spartan Drilling, the new contracted rig operator has prepared a scope of work for the additional requirements to achieve U.S. Coast Guard certification and has commenced said work which is expected to be completed within the coming weeks.
Coast Guard officials will visit the rig, docked in Homer next week, to complete their inspections.
Kenai Offshore Drilling, the Buccaneer subsidiary that owns the rig has reproduced and gained access to the technical drawings and inspection certifications that were completed during the previous shipyard work in both Singapore and Homer to allow the USCG inspections to proceed without the assistance of the previous project manager Archer Drilling LLC.
As we’ve reported, Buccaneer and Archer are in the midst of a legal battle following the termination of Archer’s contract in December 2012.
