The Seward Highway is currently closed at Mile 91. A downed power line has stopped traffic, but crews are currently working on restoring access to the road.
Repairs could take around three or four more hours, opening the road after 8:30am.
The problem was reported when a F-350 drove onto the lines a little after 4am. Troopers say the vehicle sustained minor damage, but the driver was uninjured.
According to Beth Ipsen with the Troopers, the power lines stretch across both south and northbound lanes about one mile north of Girdwood. An officer is on scene and the road will be closed until the lines are back up.
