Borough Road Projects Continuing

Crews with the Kenai Peninsula Borough Roads Department have been out in force this summer, preforming road paving and upgrade work though out the area. We spoke to Borough Mayor Mike Navarre, who said that road crews are still out and about…

KPB Mayor Navarre: “…and will  continue to be finalized clear up until the snow flies. There’s a few paving projects that probably won’t go forward until late August or even into September, and then they’ll keep going as long as they can until the weather shuts down the asphalt plants. The gravel roads that are being constructed and upgraded, that’s ongoing, they seem to be going very well.  We have a great crew over at the roads department, and the contractors are doing a good job. It’s been good weather for that also.”

Navarre said that one of the major projects was the Nikiski area, improving the road to the senior center.
