Bond Prop A Has One Local Project

10/15/12

Voters in November will be deciding on a number of issues, including Bond Proposition A, which will include one project for the local area. Kenai City Manager Rick Koch explains…

Koch: “There is $20 million in that package that Sen. Wagoner worked tirelessly to try to get into the capital budget, and it is the construction of a for a multi-lane roadway between Soldotna and Kenai.”

Koch provided more details into the project

Koch: “It will mostly go to a four lane between the two cities. The $20 million was below what was requested, Sen. Wagoner had requested $40 million because that’s consistent with what the Department of Transportation and Public Facilitates said the cost estimate would be. If the bond proposition is successful, I think $20 million will most likely be used to upgrade five intersections between Soldotna and Kenai that are problematic as far as traffic accidents, Silver Salmon being one, Beaver Loop being another, and three others.”
