Gubernatorial candidate Bill Walker will be on KSRM’s Sound Off Program at 10am today on 920AM. Walker is also holding a campaign kick-off fundraiser at Paradisos tonight from 5-7pm.
Walker, a Republican, will avoid a shown-down against Parnell in the primary, since he’s running as an Independent.
Walker said his position on oil tax cuts is one reason he won’t be running as a Republican. In a statement, he said it seems that if you don’t support the oil tax cut the Legislature recently passed, you’re not considered a “good Republican.”
He recently applauded the voter initiative to overturn the new taxes, saying: “As resource owners, Alaskans should be heard on this massive oil tax overhaul.”
