Bats Quiet In Extra Innings As Oilers Fall 2-1 To Miners In 11 Innings

For a second-straight game, the Peninsula Oilers and the Mat-Su Miners needed extra innings in an Alaska Baseball League game; the Miners coming-out on top 2-1 in 11 innings on Thursday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.

The Oilers managed a lone earned run in the seventh inning while allowing an unearned run in the second to the Miners.  Tied at 1-1 after the seventh inning, the Oilers held down threats by the Miners until a bases-loaded walk brought in the game-winning run.

The Oilers and Miners meet on Friday in the rubber-game of the three-game series.

Friday is a free admission night sponsored by Tesoro and closes-out the Oilers first extended homestand.  Game time is 7:00 p.m.

The Oilers open an eight day, nine game road trip in Anchorage on Sunday against the Anchorage Glacier Pilots.  The Oilers stand at 1-1 in the ABL.
