The Alaska Department of Fish and Game’s Division of Sport Fish has issued an emergency order that would allow the use of bait in the early-run king salmon fishery in the Kenai River.
The emergency order goes into effect at midnight, tonight. It is for a point approximately 100 yards downstream of the confluence of the Moose and Kenai Rivers. Fish and Game says all other Kenai River special provisions, methods, and bag and possession limits remain in effect. Anglers may only use one single hook. Anglers may only keep king salmon that are less than 46 inches in length or 55 inches or greater in length.
