Bagley Says Goodbye To Council And Hello To Assembly

Dale Bagley beat Linda Murphy in the 2013 regular election for the District 4 seat on the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly, 290 votes to Murphy’s 269 votes.

Soldotna Mayor Nels Anderson awarded Bagley with a plaque of commemoration last night at his final Soldotna City Council meeting.

We asked Bagley about his feelings on leaving the council.

Bagley: “Well I’ll still be here, obviously I still have the best interest of Soldotna at heart and I’ll still be here at council meetings occasionally but yes, its going to be some new challenges some new issues and I look forward to working there at the assembly.”

We asked Mayor Anderson how he felt about losing Bagley as well as two other seats on the council.

Mayor Anderson: “You know its a little bit scary because those council members we’re losing are people that have had a lot of experience and certainly have the city interests at heart I think the new members we’ve had elected are going to be wonderful and now we have to appoint two more and I hope we have some people from the general public who are willing to step forward and put their names in the hat to be considered for public service and we can get another couple council members like the ones we’ve had who are interested in the best interests of the City of Soldotna.”

Applications for appointments of the available seats are due no later than October 16th at 4:30 pm.
