Back to the Table Today for Borough Adminstration and Union

As we reported, the contract negotiations are continuing between the Kenai Peninsula Borough Administration and union representing borough employees. We spoke to Terry Bookey, a Capitan with Central Emergency Services, who is speaking on behalf of the employees association.

Capt. Bookey: “As you’re aware, the Kenai Borough’s Employees Association is currently contract negotiations with the Kenai Peninsula Borough. We’ve met approximately 15-times since January 1st, and negotiations are still ongoing. Our next meeting will be today; hopefully we’re able to come to an agreement that is mutually agreeable to both parties.”

Health care is certainly a part of the discussions Bookey said, and the employees are looking to work with the Administration to help reduce health care costs to the Borough.
