AST Arrest one following Weekend Disturbance Call in Kasilof

Saturday May 4th, at 7:25pm, the Alaska State Troopers in Soldotna received a report of a disturbance at the Tustemena Lodge in Kasilof.

Troopers told us that the complainant reported her husband, identified as 43-year-old Darren Magee, was outside the door and trying to get in.  The complainant said Darren had hit her. Troopers also say that loud screaming was heard before the call was disconnected.

Troopers responded to the lodge and, upon entry, observed Darren sitting on a bed with a large kitchen knife within arm’s reach on a coffee table.

Darren stood up, grabbed the knife, and was holding in the Troopers’ direction.  Darren was ordered to put the knife multiple times before he complied.

Darren was immediately detained and, subsequent to the investigation, placed under arrest and charged with Assault in the Fourth Degree (Domestic Violence), Interfering with a Domestic Violence Report, and Disorderly Conduct.

Darren was transported to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility and remanded without bail.

Troopers believe that alcohol was a factor.
