Assault Reported at Nikiski Pool

3/30/2010

The Alaska State Troopers say an 18-year-old Nikiski man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting two 12-year-old boys at the Nikiski Pool on Sunday.  Troopers say they were contacted at 9:19 p.m., Sunday night, by the mother of one of the victims.  She told troopers that her 12-year-old son, whose name was not released, and the 12-year-old’s friend had been physically assaulted and threatened at the pool.  Troopers claim that 18-year-old Jacob L. Tuttle of Nikiski got into an argument with the two boys.  During the course of the argument, troopers say that Tuttle forced both of them to the ground.  Troopers also say that both juveniles were threatened with a pair of scissors.  One of the boys had to be treated for minor injuries at Central Peninsula Hospital. Tuttle was arrested on four counts of Assault and remanded to the Wildwood Pre-Trial facility without bail.

This Tuttle has a sizable disregard for the law. A quick check of his record reveals 9 other infractions in his young life. He can now add a serious Felony or two to his record. Maybe he’ll learn a lesson this time.

  • alvy says:

Seriously?? Tuttle’s sizable disregard for the law are traffic violations. I know my kids got a few in their time. I hope he gets a fair trial, and no I don’t think he should get off without some kind of punishment.

  • Michelle says:

Seriously. Multiple traffic infractions in two years IS a disregard for the law.
I have driven for over 30 years and have only 1.
Felony assault with scissors is no laughing matter. I do also hope he gets a trial and the outcome is fair — to his twelve yr old victims.

  • tim says:

jacob is my friend he would not stab anyone. the kids picked on the wrong older kid. they over exagerated. just because he has traffic violations does not make him a big time criminal. stop being retarded and judgeing you wernt there.

  • Jill says:

    Sorry Tim.

    Stop being retarded?

    Yeah, you sound mature.

He grabbed scissors from the front desk of the pool facility. He threatened the kids. He shoved them to the ground. One had an injury. He was arrested for felony assault.
Obviously the cops thought the kids over exaggerated too. Yeah, right.

Jacob Tuttle is actually a great guy. I hope there are witnesses that will straighten this mess out and these two 12 year olds step up to the plate and tell what REALLY happened because my understanding is that this has been blown WAY out of porportion. If you know Jacob, you would know just how much potential he has to make a difference for the good in whatever he chooses to do in life. Right now, he needs to be back in school finishing his senior year. He is NOT a bad kid. These 12 yr. olds need to tell the truth and stop getting mom all hysterical and making accusations. I just hope the truth prevails and you can be sure Jacob Tuttle will gladly take responsibility for his actions. To ’sterling’ and ‘Michelle’, you sound like my ex-wife-in-law. Pious. You pre-judge and superimpose because you think you are the only perfect person in the world and you’re not.

  • Greg says:

Well Sterling aren’t you just the town crier. Maybe you should just stay in Sterling. Traffic violations! Yeah he’s a hardened criminal. What planet do you come from ,The Twilite ZONE! More like a village idiot! I wasn’t there but the word is that the kid cut his finger in the pool and Jacob laughed at him so he retailiated. I know Jacob and have always found him to be decent and respectfull. I don’t know how the scissors played into it. The troopers can also blow things out of nothing to charge someone. Kinda like you Sterling . No wonder so many cases get dismissed by the DA.

Look a grand jury will vote and if they choose so he’ll get a trial by his peers. Thank goodness Sterling is not a trooper or we’d be going to a funeral! Tell the Truth the WHOLE Truth! So help you God! I am thankfull we have the right to free speach in this country and can post our opinions like in this forum.

People say things they don’t mean, Jacob would never actually CUT a 12 year old boy with a pair of scissors. He was probably just trying to scare them so they would stop being stupid and immature like 12 year old boys usually are. Jake should not be in jail right now, just give him community service or something.

  • Jake says:

Well, it certainly seems like Team Tuttle is out in force. Perhaps TT can cut out the belittling crap to those commenters who bwere just going by news reports, not hearsay from those that were there or those that know Jacob Tuttle. Chill out folks!

  • Fred says:

Greg says ” I wasn’t there but I heard . . . .” ” I don’t know how scissors played into it’. “The troopers can blow things out of nothing . . ” Apparently they don’t have an exclusive on that. I agree with your point on free speech though.

Celeste says “You pre-judge and superimpose because you think you are the only perfect person in the world and you’re not.” What a classic line, I busted a gut. Thanks for making my day !

  • Orren says:

Look i am Jake’s’ friend and i heard it from the people at the pool so listen up.

One of the kids cut his finger in the pool and instead of fixing it he wipes blood everywhere, that is a very dangerous bio-hazard by the way, then when Jake confronts him about it he decides to kick him in the testicles and take his stuff. As he is walking away jake takes his stuff back not even hurting him. This 12 year-old needs to grow up and tell the truth before the real truth comes out.
