Area Receives Update on Pebble Project

The ongoing Pebble Mine Project has been a major debate throughout the state. John Shively, CEO of the Pebble Partnership, made a presentation to a joint luncheon of the Kenai and Soldotna Chambers. He commented on some of the challenges that the project has encountered so far.

Shivley said the earliest the permitting process could begin is the end of 2012; but, there are factors that could change the date.
