Alaska Medicaid Pharmacy Annual Prescription Volume Survey

Posted: November 30, 2012 at 5:53 pm

The state of Alaska is performing a survey for all Alaska Medicaid providers to determine the amount of prescriptions taken by each pharmacy, we spoke with Tom Hodel, the owner of Soldotna Professional Pharmacy.

Hodel: “Medicaid is kind of proposing well what they’ve done in the past too is the more prescriptions they fill the least reimbursement is kind of how they are looking to do the fee schedule to do the medicaid reimbursement but that’s all part of they have all these new regulations right now and they’re cutting our reimbursement drastically and we’re going to go from one of the better paying states to one of the lowest if these regulations go through and of course the pharmacy board has some opposition to that and right now we’re just trying to work out a happy medium with the state on that.”
