Absentee Voting for Presidential Election Opens Monday

Gail Fenumiai, Director of the Alaska office of Elections, confirmed that absentee voting for the November 6 general election opens on Monday. Here are the details:

Fenumiai: “Well absentee voting starts on Monday the 22nd at a lot of locations throughout the state. Some individual locations just have ballots for that specific house district in which that community resides within. Our regional offices, located in Juneau, Anchorage, Wasilla, Fairbanks and Nome have ballots for all 40 house districts and they’re open – our office are open Monday through Friday – regular business hours. They will be open the weekend before the election for absentee and early voting as well.”

Absentee in-person voting will be open right up until the election. For absentee voting by mail, you must be registered by October 27. To find an in-person location…

Fenumiai: “Our website has a long list of locations. They can go to our website: www.elections.alaska.gov and right under the headlines, there’s ‘find absentee voting locations,’ and they can find them listed by community.”
