Kenai Absentee Votes Seen Increase This Year

Absentee voting in Kenai saw a big increase for 2013 with a total of 172 absentee votes and question ballots, only 12 were rejected.

Kenai City Clerk Sandra Modigh said voter turn out for Kenai was 1,262 meaning %25 of registered voters in Kenai voted on the 2013 ballot.

2012 only saw 810 voters hit the ballot boxes with only %16 of registered voters getting out to vote.

Last year 103 absentee votes were counted, Modigh attributes ballot propositions this year to a higher voter turn out.
