It’s time to start preparing your home for the 2015 wildfire season, according to Paul Pelligrini with the State Division of Forestry.

Pellegrini: “A lot of people are under the impression that it’s the fire front coming through that’s going to ignite their home from these super-heated flames and gasses and there’s been scientific efforts to show that wildland fuel, especially a forest, as little as 100 feet from your house, that forest can be completely aflame and your house could survive if you follow these Firewise tips.”
Pellegrini said the first (and easiest) step is to make sure you have a clear barrier around your home free of debris.
