As of 4:30 pm, 21 mushers have reached Nome in the Iditarod, leaving 29 still on the trails.
2011 Iditarod Champion John Baker also finished in 19th place today and said this.
Baker: “Well, our team didn’t do probably as good I wanted to or expected to but really they didn’t do that bad. We were fortunate to have a trail to race on this year, the group of people who put the race together did a good job it just wasn’t the type of trail that was good for my team. So I have to be happy with that. I’m glad for people that had teams that were good at this type of trail but mine just wasn’t. That’s ok, I’ll do better next time.”
Thanks to our partners at KNOM in Nome for that interview.
