A local woman was cited this week after taking a photo with a forbidden fish.
On Sunday, 24-year-old Crystal M. Gorup reeled in a foul hook King Salmon, in full sight of an Alaska Wildlife Trooper. A male friend kicked the fish onto the shore and Gorup held it up for a picture. Although Gorup then released the King, it was enough to earn her the citation and a $260 bail for violating Emergency Order 2-KS-1-22-13, closing the river to fishing for King Salmon through June 30th.
Under that order, any King Salmon caught could not be removed from the water.
