The Kenai Peninisula Borough’s Assessing Department says the 2010 Kenai Peninsula Borough Real Property Assessment Roll has been completed and assessment notices are being mailed to the last known address of all property owners. The Kenai Peninsula Borough’s Board of Equalization hearings are scheduled to begin on May 24th.
According to the Assessing Department, a person receiving an assessment notice must advise the Assessor of errors or omissions. The department says alleged errors in valuation not adjusted by the Assessor to the taxpayer’s satisfaction may be appealed to the Board of Equalization. Forms for the appeals process are available at the Borough Clerk’s Office in Soldotna, Borough Assessor’s Office in Soldotna, the Homer Borough Office, the Seward Borough Office, all city halls within the kenai Peninsula Borough and the website for the Kenai Peninsula Borough.
The appeal forms must be postmarked or received by the Borough Clerk in Soldotna no later than 5 p.m. on March 31st. Those with questions about this process can contact the Assessing Department in Soldotna.
