$2,000 Damage in K-Beach Accident

An overturned John Deere excavator on K-Beach delayed traffic yesterday afternoon. Sgt Rory Espy with the Soldotna Police Department said the accident occurred around 5:15pm at mile 21 of K-Beach Road.

Marcus Reemtsma had been towing a flat bed with the excavator improperly loaded. It broke free and overturned on the roadway, closing one lane of traffic, but no injuries. Sgt. Espy said cars were rerouted around the accident, which caused around $2,000 in damage.

Reemtsma was charged with operating a vehicle with a load adversely affecting its stability, with a fine of $200.
